Sham performed an experiment to check the law of conservation of mass using the reaction of an Alka-Seltzer tablet with water in a beaker.

Mass of Beaker and water: 47.26 g
Mass of Alka Seltzer tablet: 3.205 g
Mass after the reaction: 47.96 g

Assume that the balance was working properly and Sham recorded the masses correctly. Describe 2 reasons why the mass of the reactants is not equal to the mass of the products?

    Thank you

We will not do homework for you. It is given to you for a reason and that reason is to improve your abilities. You will not improve and do well if someone does your work for you. Put some effort into it and post what you come up with. Come up with a possible answer even if you're not sure it's correct. Then we may help you.

ya ya, i got 1 reason, im just stumped on the 2nd one. the reason i got so far is, that the gas escapes when the reaction occurs, therefore taking with it some mass.
