And under what conditions would the salt recrystallize?

You'd think I'd be able to find this easily somewhere on the web, but no.

    Cheers!

When in a solution, salt or sugar would recrystallize if the liquid it was dissolved in were evaporated away.

The formula for calculating it is here, along with the constants for salt and sugar.

That was four years ago that he asked. The irony is my old brain wouldn't stop at the net.

    I'd get salt.
I'd get a pot of water. I'd get a thermometer.

    And I'd play scientist.

Although, four years later, I did google up a few good answers on the interweb.

I wonder if sugarandfat has graduated by now?

I guess from time to time we all have a brief flirtation with necromancy, perhaps if we made the date flash or stand out more it would be easier to notice, but hey it could just have been the case someone wanted to set a record, I mean 4 years for an answer must be getting close to some sort of record, I bet the poor guy just got an email to tell him of the answer and thought "are you havin' a laugh?".

Well, at least it's a science topic, which makes it better than about 80% of what's posted lately.

To many Christmas parties, people's brains don't function as well with a hangover.
