Is that an official name for CH?

I know that NH3 is named Ammonia. I also know that NH3 is stable wheras CH isnt.

CH doesn't have a name, it exists as part of a hydrocarbon chain. In organic chemistry we label the entire compound not just the little parts of it.

    For Example

    H3C---CH(OH)---CH3

This compound is propan-2-ol. we see little mention of each individual carbon but from this name we can draw the compound exactly by following the basic rules.

I'm not sure what level you are at but reading organic chemistry nomenclature will help you understand this.
    everything is mathematical.
