eh :P why do you want to "make TNT"?
"Becuse I like it very much!!" sounds like a bad reason in my ears:P
explosive study is interesting and we aren't calling you a terrorist for asking.
we just don't want you to injure yourself or others while making it.
in reality TNT is quite safe to handle relative to all the other explosives out there, so aslong as you aren't a complete moron you should be fine.
it can be damaging to your health if you're exposed to it too much so wear lab coat and gloves etc.
BE SAFE!!
and use a fume hood![]()
Be careful, TNT is very poisonous try making something different...
Congrats OP, you are almost certainly on an FBI database by now...![]()
Seriously I have to wonder why there's no policy against asking about or providing information on the production of controlled or merely dangerous substances on this forum. It seems to rather leave this place open to litigation.
The way you are going l doubt you WILL be studying explosives for very long--
And madmax is correct, it takes a blasting cap to detonate.
It's also been 4 years since this thread was initiated and gone passive. I wonder how much stuff OP has blown up since.
Zombie thread wants brains!
It may be good to notice that Crazyboy only has 4 posts and is suspended, 3 of those posts are in this thread. I am pretty sure that should be a hint to us all.
Makes one wish this forum had a Ban Log.
Did it ever occur to anyone that maybe he just wanted to make a model of a Teenage mutant Ninja Turtle, because he "like it very much" but instead........!!!
In all seriousness though, I don't think it is right to discuss the making of explosives, certainly not on a public forum anyway as you never really know who the other person is or what their intentions are.
Thread is being locked. Why? Because http://www.thescienceforum.com/chemi...ing-forum.html
