Why not just only have one brand?
One Brand = Better pay, chaeper products, Social control.

The world may seem big but it can still be a small community.

Your talking gibberish and not responding to the discussion.

Maybe i like to talk slow in order to draw everything out.

We have more tools and better communication these days. I hate living like we're in a cave when we can build a house...

we need a new national anthem too.

Utterly irrelevant to the opening post you made.

If the world community could agree and work together we would not need one government.

We would though. As it would be needed for making and enforcing policies

Good point. What would this world government look like? How would it work?

That's impossible. You can look throughout history about that. I think that we are more likely to get extinct than to come to that.

I like to believe we can all work out our differences and come to trust each other but the work to do so is probably sky high.

well, yeah. It is called globalisation and trade agreement. But if you will take a look on any business model and plan, you might understand, that for a global world it won't be beneficial to use this way. It is really sad, but let's be realistic - world will never be the same and equal. Some people, companies will be better off comparing to other people / companies.

Why do you think this would happen?

Economy is scale is not unlimited. Scale can be both too small to be efficient AND too big. If it's too big, you end up with an unnecessarily big amount of bureaucracy trying to coordinate everything. Decision making bottlenecks emerge where one super high ranking boss ends up having to make thousands of decisions in a day, more than any human being can do a good job of making. But if he/she doesn't make them, they won't get made.

There is a reason that nature chose to make your body out of millions of tiny cells.

As for control, it is overrated. Even if I'm allowed to beat my horse with a whip, and electric shocks, it won't gallop a whole lot further or faster than it would if I just lead it along with some sugar cubes. Most people are already doing their best to make a better world without being told. They simply want to. (But don't always know how, unfortunately.)

Authoritarianism is equally likely to steer society off course, as to steer it better on course, because most authoritarians are idiots. Authoritarian politicians are dishonest idiots. Engineers rarely rise to the top of those hierarchies. Authoritarians sometimes consult engineers when making decisions, but only to make it sound like an engineer agreed with them. (The ones that disagree are quickly removed, and credentials revoked if possible.)
