"A number of cells together is a tissue
Why is a number of sperm not a tissue?"
It's a question on my homework and I don't have a clue.

Can you name a difference between a clump of sperm and a tissue like muscle for instance (other than the type of cell)?
Sperm don't associate with other sperm through adhesion molecules. I never took anatomy or histology so that's my best guess lol.
group of cells working together inside an organ to perform a similar fnction is called tissue..but sperm is not like that...sperm is monoploid in status...and it is a single cell not connected with other cells as cells in tissue
Sperm it not a group stick together = 1 life
each sperm has it own life so it is not tissue
Sperm is part of a tissue. Just not in its final stages.
Doesn't it have a seperate name when it's in the testes?Originally Posted by spuriousmonkey
Spermatophyte or something like that?
yes..it has been called as spermatocyte.....
Sperm often gets deposited into a tissue
Ahem
That was Minxy that said that
Not me.....
