    ....What is it?

I mean, I know what it is. (Chaotic cells that grow, multiply, divide and destroy) But what is cancer really? Just another way for nature to counter or eliminate genetic deformality?

I know much of it can be caused by radiation, smoking and other types of harmful chemicals but what about all of the people who get randomly. Is there some greater evolutionary purpose behind it? Or is it all just a random X-factor of life?

Apparently you don't know what it is.

A cancer cell is not chaotic and it does not destroy.

cancer can kill you so I guess it can destory but from what I learned at school cancer is when it just keep multipling with out being useful. not sure on that though.
I think its some random X thing afterall most of it is our fault we smoke, we release harmful chemicals, we get exposure to radiation.

A cancer cell is not chaotic and it does not destroy.
    From Wikipedia:

Cancer is a disease characterized by a population of cells that grow and divide without respect to normal limits, invade and destroy adjacent tissues, and may spread to distant anatomic sites through a process called metastasis.

I am not an expert on the matter. I am only summerizing, in layman's terms, what I have read various sources including the one above.

The cancer cell is still not chaotic and it still doesn't destroy.

Other tissues degenerates because the cancer tissue sucks up all the resources. The cancer cell is not chaotic because it is still a normal highly organized cell which is not under control of its neighbouring tissue anymore.

    language is everything.

If it were somehow known that a person was not exposed to any carcinogens, what would be the natural cause of the genetic mutation that causes the 'random' cancer?

Copying of DNA is not perfect. Therefore every time a cell divides errors creep in.
