    Hi guys,

It looks like suspended animation is finally leaving the realms of science fiction and starting to happen in the real world The link to the full article is below.

Doesn't look like they are doing anything that's not been tried already. Nothing really new in that report for the same thing was being said 10 years ago. I wish they would be more decriptive in what exactly they were doing besides the same old rhetoric that's always been around about this subject.

I found the site interesting and have put it on my favorites and will join its forum. I am surprised it did not mention bears and other mammals which hybernate naturally, however. I believe it is barely possible for a person to work with their own mind and body with meditation for enough years to get to the point where they are able to induce some sort of a lower level of metabolism. I don't say it is useful and much of the Hindu states are not useful and actually harmful. Also, I am not aware of any really scientific investigations substantiating their ability to induce such a state.

In the distant future, we need to have such knowledge as we need to be able to survive long trips in space flight to colonize other planets of the solar system and then the rest of the universe. I am hoping the human race is going to be around a long time!

Even at the speed of light, which can't be attained, it would take over 100 years to get to the nearest planet outside of our solar system and we don't know what is there. That means that there could be a problem along the way with the ship we are in and the ship could just stop, go off course or many other problems could arise. Who's going to fix those problems if everyones in suspended animation?
