Jane's female fetus has aborted and it is decided she can never become pregnant again. She and her husband want their child anyway and have the money to do it. Specialists remove egg cells from the fetus, fertilize them by the husband and impregnate a surrogate mother with the fertilized eggs. It grows full term and a healthy baby is born.

    Who is the mother?

it didn't though... it came from the fetus. I haven't the slightest idea why you'd take eggs from the fetus and not Jane, but I'd have to say that technically the fetus it the biological mother of the baby, as odd as that sounds.

Isnt that technically incestuous as if the father's sperm is used to fertilise eggs of two successive generations at than the baby is probably genetically composed of around 3/4 "father" genes?

Actually, it would be much less ardious and costly to take it from the fetus! My authority was Lee M. Silver, an expert on the subject. However, my info is old, ten years old. At the time, the proceedured was do-able but had not yet been done. I don't know if it ever has, but the word is it would be much better putting the dead fetus through the proceedure than its mother.

yeah, except then the father is having a baby not with his wife but with his unborn daughter, and that's a tad bit weird...

My point exactly! I think the role of the father is far more interesting and controversial than the mother here!
