Weight loss pills are typically ineffective. Best bet is to calculate how many calories you consume in a day (also helps to know how many you burn...there are plenty of calorie calculators online), but then cut your caloric intake by approximately 25%. You have to burn 3500 calories to lose one pound. If you cut out 500 calories a day (this could be as simple as skipping the large fries) you can lose about a pound a week. Doesn't seem like much, but its a good place to start. I found out I consume and burn up to 3200 calories per day. I'm starting to eat less and drink more water when I can. The average calorie consumption is 2000(female) 2500(male) per day. I'm a diet pepsi junkie, its all I drink day and night, so at this point, even drinking 16oz of water a day is better than nothing...
hope this was informative
good luck with your weightloss plans!

I added up everything i consume in a typical day including tea and coffee etc. Its around 8000 calories.

i didn't think tea or coffee contained any calories (that is, if you leave out the milk and sugar)Originally Posted by leohopkins
Okay, we have all heard about certain pills that in preventing the absorption of fats (both good and bad sadly) can and do produce, how shall I delicately put this, "leakage" from one's colon/bowel/anus.
Let's suppose that any one of these pills, or another yet to be invented, has a 100% (no room, at all, for doubt) success rate with melting fat and keeping it off: on this pill you are GAURENTEED to loss weight. However, let's further suppose that the chances of "leakage" are 80-100%...
do you still take the pill? Why or why not?
Anyone out there who has stopped taking weight loss pills because of "leakage?"
This question is purely theoretical and does not suppose that any current pill is 100% effective. It's asks you to imagine such a pill.
