sorry if this sounds like a dumb question, but i was curious that if humanity never became what it is like today, could there be a perfect species that could develop to have no further need for evolution?

Perfection has no meaning in this context. Evolution is driven by adaptation to the environment which improves the reproduction of the species. Who could say that any species was "perfectly" adapted to its environment?
