What kind of microscope would you need to see the super small stuff, like, invisible to the naked eye? Bacteria, cells, other types of microscopic stuff, etc. I know there are at least 2 different types of microscopes, and I know that 'High Power' are the best for seeing the small stuff, but what I mean is what kind is the best for it, and is there a special kind I would need to see actual life, or is that even possible? To elaborate on what I mean, is there a kind of microscope that I could use that I wouldn't need the 'slide' and a preserved piece of something, like I could put a container of some sort with water under the microscope and see the stuff that's in there?

Thanks for any help you all can give

Most if not all of them require a slide to be put under the lenses so that the light can go through them to see what they contain.

    Here's one for the beginner.

Have you ever used a microscope? You could probably get a pretty cheap one (~$100) that is capable of seeing rbcs, wbcs, etc(though I can't guarantee any quality) , but it wouldn't work the way you seem to want it to work.
