It seems people use a lot of resources to keep their grass short and green. So I was wondering, is it possible to bio-engineer grass so it doesn't grow beyond a certain point? It would certainly save a lot of time and energy.

I'm pretty sure that already exists. Some strains are just shorter than others.
But it would still have to be cut to have a uniform length.
You can't engineer each blade to be exactly the same length ... which is what people seem to want for their lawns.
No astro-turf is a plastic substitute.
I know it's plastic - no water or nutrient required what could be better!
