There is a lot of literature on modelling cell motility. I want to know if cell motility models (such as those incorporating protrusions and polarization), metazoan cell models in particular, have been used to aid in automated tracking of live cells. In specific, has anyone used predictions from internal cell models to guide the tracking algorithms?
For the type of idea I'm talking about, take tracking humans in video, for example. There are models that figure out what direction the person is moving and use this to make a better decision as to where the person will be in the next frame.
