Does anyone have any ideas on how to build a cell model?

    Welcome to the Forum.

How about modelling clay, painting, glazing start with the small items, and when you have made them press them into the 'substrate' then paint and bake the base.

If it's a simpler model use paper mache? (or however it's spelt)

When I had to make a model of a cell, I cut a tennis ball in half, filled it most of the way with hot glue, then arranged some marbles and wire and finished with the hot glue.

It actually looked really good even though it had no scientific purpose...

If you want to get really neat with it, you could go so far as to make the lipid molecules in the membrane... Would require a lot more pieces though....

In my 9th grade bio class the class made cell models out of rice crispy bars with various types of candy on top to represent the organelles. and of course, they did not go to waste.
