All mammals have anucleate erythrocytes, without exception.

I don't know where the camel myth comes from, but like other mammals they have red blood cells without a nucleus.

Birds, however, do have nucleated rbc's:

I've shown an image of camel blood that demonstrates that the erythrocytes are anucleate. Here's a review paper on the peculiarities of camelid blood: "Evolution of Function and Form in Camelid Erythrocytes". It doesn't support your trusted source. They have an odd shape, certainly. Maybe that's where the myth comes from?

Maybe you should point to a source that supports your claim.
