What post was that? Did you create a new thread or reply to an existing one?

This was the post I made.

    Title
Help Me Build A Social Media Network So We Can Cure Several Diseases Together In Our Lifetime

Did you know that there is a computer program that lets you turn your system into a scientific research tool? Many modern discoveries are made with the help of thousands of hours of computer data crunching and we are standing at the dawn of a new era of disease research. World community grid allows you to use any computer to do research that could lead to cures for various diseases like cancer, aids, and malaria. In addition to this there are also projects run by WCG that will lead to the next generation of solar panels.

There are less than 500k computers worldwide that are running the research program. I do not understand why more people aren't using it. It's designed to only use the unused cpu cycles of your PC. Your computer is never using all it's potential data processing power, for example when you are typing up a post on this forum your cpu is not working hardly at all. WCG could be using that unused brain power to solve many human problems. Even if you are a gamer WCG will only use your computer according to your usage so it won't interfere with your online experience. Even if you are one of ther few people that notices a slowdown there is a simple way to lower the usage setting on the program.

Here are a few links to study how the program works.

Download the program here. Be sure to click back through this link and join my team.
    World Community Grid - Team

I have 191 team member as of today. It has taken me several years to build up this team. I need many more members. I want to start using social media to spread the word about this great project. I want to start having contests on my youtube channel and facebook fan-page to encourage competition among my team members but until I get a much larger group of friends I won't be able to move forward with this. I've tried launching contests on one of my youtube channels but I usually end up with just one person competing for the prize.

Please try running this program and please be sure to join team endthedisease so I can see that my efforts are getting results.

Right now I am concentrating on building my real social base. The best way to communicate with me is on my FB fanpage.

I also use Google Plus but I rarely answer messages there.

I have twitter but I'm trying to get my old account back @endthedisease

The second best way to contact me is through a shout on my empireavenue profile. Investing in me here allows me to create missions here that can lead to new users of WCG. Most of my teammates have been found using this site.

I also have a tumblr blog but it's still in the development stage.

I hope at the very least you will take the time to study a little bit about world community grid and consider joining team endthedisease

    Thanks Endthedisease,

Looks interesting, but how can I be sure that installing the software will not expose my PC to viruses or other threats? Also, how can I be sure that running the software will not interfere with normal system performance?

    Best wishes,

    Tri~

The program was created by IBM and is run by scientists and computer specialists from Stanford university. BOINC is the software used to run WCG as well as SETI and dozens of other similar projects. It's been used for 20 years with no serious problems. Over 2 million computers run this program with more added every day. It's completely safe.

I deleted, after it was reported as spam by one of the members. I sent you a PM several days ago.

Ok, I see the PM but how can it be spam when there are only social media links?

Anyway, I want to see if I can repost this. If I remove most of the links will that be ok? Obviously I need to leave the wcg links in and possibly 1-2 of my social media links.

That's fine. Just don't want anyone with a habit of posting a bunch of links not directly related or supporting the discussion at hand. Well focused scientific based links wrapped into the conversation are encouraged.
