I just found out that my teachers have registered me for the Australian Science Olympiad in Biology. My test is on the 30th of August and i have been trying last years test papers and have been doing all right but i still need to do better.

Has anyone else done the Science Olympiad (preferably Australian) and if you have, how did you study for it? Thanks in advance, i really want to do well in this test.

I'm Australian, but I've never been involved with the Science Olympiad (as far as I know, the school I went to only chose students for the Maths Olympiad), so I'm not much help. Plus I never studied biology in school, even though that's all I study now.

I probably shouldn't even be posting; I guess I'm just wondering how many Australians frequent this board.

Sorry to change the topic a bit!

I tried doing one of those. Really hard :? What year should you be in to do one of them, I'm in year ten and we haven't learnt any of that stuff yet :P. But then again your probably realy smart I think it would help if you studied from Year 12 biology books or something because it says that only Year 11's and under can go for it. Good luck for the test.

Thanks for all the well wishing.

It seems to have questions to do with Yr10 and Yr11 Biology as well as a lot of knolwedge questions that don't seem to come out of any syllabus. You may be right, they might come out of the uni first year syllabus.
