Does anyone know if it would be scientifically possible to speed up the human
    pregnancy cycle?

Seems a bit unlikely. The length of pregnancy of various mammals appears to be fairly consistent.

The bigger and more complex animals have longer pregnancies. Smaller or simpler animals have shorter pregnancies.

I dread to think of the side effects if something like that could be done. Foetal growth is finely timed. Try speeding it up and there would be all sorts of mistiming disasters. At best, you would have a dead foetus. At worst, a monster.

Fertility medicines used to have that unintended effect because they led to more twins and triplets which usually results in shorter pregnancies--and more complications for the smaller newborns.
