    Here we go,

Why is it that when you eat lots of sugar you get thursty? Zwolver said something about blood balances in the sweating thread. Would this be a similar case? If we have so much sugar in the blood do we need more water? If so, why?

Occasionally (usually only when I get a migraine) I will be very, very thursty all day and the water just goes strait through me. I keep drinking but, it just won't stay in me. Any ideas what may cause this? Does it have anything to do with the nausea caused by the migraine?

I think that's enough for now.

id say it have to do with the b odies osmotic pressure, water is sucked out of the cells becuase the water concentration outside is all of a sudden less than inside the cells, to compansate this the body needs more water so it becomes equal on the inside and outside of the cell

    yes, i agree with zelos.

when you eat any small molecule in high quantities (sugar or any salt) it'll form a potentional force and it'll suck out fluids from your cells (osmotic pressure)

look at it as 2 buckets of water with gravel in them..

the gravel has to stay in.. but there must be the same percentage of gravel on both sides.. so the water swap begins.. until they have equallised.

the opposite same happens when drinking demineralised water (unhealthy, don't drink it)

your cells will absorb so much water that they'll go *poof* because there is no "gravel" in the bucket (worst case)

So I think I was thinking of it wrong. It is not the water level in the blood that signals dehydration but, the level in the cells.

So say you have lots of sugar and get really thursty. You drink tons of water. Will your body think you have to much and start getting rid of it even if you do need it? Still wondering why someone would get thursty and drink lots of water but, not have the water stay in (this has happened to me).

maybe your electrolytes are low then, drink light salted water then.. to increase the amount of permanent electrolytes, because sugar get's consumed or solified.

I believe that it is a structure in the brain that tells the body that it needs more water... i believe its the hypothalmus.
