White blood is not a discrete substance from red blood. There are white blood cells and red blood cells, but they're mixed together in our circulation. The clear, yellowish component of blood you're referring to is probably blood plasma, which is the liquid part of our blood in which both kinds of cells float. That or pus, which is a liquid with dead white blood cells suspended in it.

White blood cells are themselves a mix of many kinds of different immune cells which generally act to attack other infected cells, free bacteria and parasites. A proportion of these cells also act as a sort of memory bank for pathogens we've previously encountered, allowing us to react more swiftly on re-infection. A good balanced diet will support a healthy immune system just as it will support most of our other functions. Supplements should be unnecessary for the vast majority of people.
