I have a question which doesnt need someone with understanding, just someone with vast knowledge to answer:

Do you know of any animal that has more than 4 different genes in the genepool for 1 segment of the DNA molecule, other than humans

(This doesnt mean I know of such a group of genes for humans, simply that it is beside the point for what I need this information for.)

For example hypothetically 5 different genes for blue, orange, green, red or yellow eyes.

I need to be certain that it's the genes that are different, not just, to follow the example, the eye-colour, because that could be the combination of 2 seperate genes that both influence eye-colou

I'm not sure if you're asking about multiple alleles at a single genetic loci (like ABO bloodtypes). Or, multiple genes involved in determining a certain phenotype (like human eye colour or mouse coat colour).
