hi i am 16 and i am interested in following the career of a science Research. In june i will just have sat my GCSES so i will be off school for tweleve weeks. i wondered if any research centres offered any work experence or basic training that would be useful.

however i do understand that it is an advanced field so they might not offer any.

i would be grateful of any infomation

    thanks

Your best bet would be to check with local university biology departments.

When I was 17 I got a volunteer position through my college under a post-doctoral student doing cancer research. Often there are legal limitations for people under 18 in labs, but it doesn't hurt to ask the administration/teachers at your current school as well as trying to contact local universities

(We often have 16-18 year old volunteers in our labs at the vet hospital, they make great gofers and cleaning staff)
    "I almost went to bed
    without remembering
    the four white violets
    I put in the button-hole
    of your green sweater

and how i kissed you then
    and you kissed me
    shy as though I'd
    never been your lover "
