I know that this is an old story but in light of recent press it has piqued my curiosity.

For those who don't know about the 'red rain' mystery:

I've heard many skeptics on this but nobody seems to be offering any good alternative. Blood cells from animals?- No, the 'red cells' reproduce! They've even offered a photograph of this. A spore, algae or pollen? No, the red cells seem to have no DNA.

What else could they be? Butterfly enzymes? Deep-sea or volcanic based simple organisms?

Where are all the biologists or even entomologists on this? You'd think there'd be a bit more intense mass-dissection of this research as it is leading to wild conclusions....(specifically that alien life was just discovered!)

I've been curious about this too. I find it odd there's no dna. I'm waiting for something more definitive on it.

As I understand it, they reproduce, so they're probably their own orgainism.

They find no DNA, maybe they can’t amplificate it. Do they find proteins? Which are the amino acid composition. Any new amino acids…
The only conclusion for now is that it’s curious.

But first, they need to confirm that indeed, there is no DNA.
