I'm aware that several of you are professional Biologists. Just wondering what kind of work people here are into right now...I personally hope to be a Biologist one day...right now I'm merely a young apprentice. Let me know the workaday details of your jobs people..share your experiences, goals and talents here. Has anyone been studying bird metabolism and gained a comprehensive understanding of why their metabolisms are so much higher than that of mammals? Has anyone been studying cecealian morphology and what evolutionary pressures likely resulted in their thick skull bones used for digging? These are the kinds of things I want to learn about...

I wouldn't call myself a professional biologist, but I work in a lab, and it kills the soul.

What's so terrible about it? Are you upset that you can't study what you want to study?

    Work in a lab.

    Got my own grant.

    Getting harassed by the boss.

Just publishing without out any support. It's a miracle I have so many papers on my resume.
