Ok so plants generally have green chloroplasts and absorb red and blue wavelengths right? I was just wondering how many different types of chloroplasts there are and if it would be possible to mix it into a hair dye or something kind of like solar panels.

    just wondering

There are a number of pigments involved in photosynthesis, plants contain chlorophylls a and b (responsible for the green colour), as well as a few other less important pigments.

Algae are 'something kind of like solar panels.'

I guess you could mix chlorpoplast in a hair dye, but it probably wouldn't give you extra energy from your hair

Chloroplasts do change light into energy, but that is energy for the plant. For your idea to work, you'd have to figure out a way to get that energy from a chloroplast into your body. (I would make a joke about eating your vegetables, but I won't.)

So hey, keep thinking and maybe you'll come up with a way!
