    Hi,

I have almost no acne, however my friend has fairly much and she asked me if laying in the sun, since it's getting warmer, would help to cure it. I'd hypothesize that it would do some good since the sun is a good source of Vitamin D, and I think that it would be good for one's skin. Therefore, I think that laying in the sun wouldn't cause the acne to get worse, I'm not quite sure how much good it would do though.

I'd appreciate some comments from you guys.

Do you think sunlight could help to cure acne?

    Thanks

I don't think Vitamin D has any effect on acne. Although, a tan might help make the acne less noticeable. There are antibiotic creams and laser treatments that you can get from a doctor if the acne is severe.

Ultraviolet light from the sun also kills some organisms.

To cure acne, go to a dermatologist. He/she will recommend the best treatment for the specific form of acne.

Common acne begins with clogged sebaceous glands. Sebum is a greasy, waxy material that flows best when warm or hot. Therefore if you don't want to cleanse these glands: wash only with cool water. Also rubbing creams and makeup into the skin will further clog the glands... so you will want more creams and makeups later, to combat and cover the acne.

I suggest a good sweat under hot sun to clear the skin.

I passed adolescence with enviably few pimples, frequently scrubbing with a steaming-hot facecloth. I never used creams/medications and I avoided greasy soaps. The natural waxy crud unloads simply with applied heat.

Well put...in my mid twenties, I got a sudden rash (no pun intended) of acne on my neck and shoulders. The dermatologist literally told me the next time I go into the sun without a shirt, skip the sunblock, and get about an hour of direct exposure. For the reasons listed above, it worked.
