What happens if you put iron oxidising and iron reducing bacteria in the same environment?
For example like say Martian soil mixed with water with a CO2 atmosphere.

It kinda already happens, although iron reducing bacteria tend to be lower down because they are anaerobic. Often iron reducing bacteria are necessary to make the iron available for oxidation by other bacteria.
I'm not sure how iron oxidizing bacteria would survive on Mars because of the low oxygen levels.
