Hi, I am very interested in how HCl causes corrosion on the skin.
Is it because it reacts with the Keratin on the skin, in the case of Nitric acid?

Or does it chemically react with another tissue on the skin?

    Thank you.

HCl is an incredibly potent acid and it reacts almost every organic compound I can think of, which coincidentally is what living tissue is primarily made of.

So in conclusion, there is no one answer but instead a series of reactions.
