I am new to this place.

I just got a question regarding the wing configuration or the wing shape of bats.

Do Bats have different wing shapes just like birds?
And does the membrane variety differ from species to species?

To me, Bat Wings all look to the same, any bat experts here?

To answer your first questions, yes there is variation in the membrane of the wings. not so much in closely related species but at the family level and higher there is distinct differences.

Like say a y shaped bone at the tail? That's what I heard from one species. but Wing shape? They all look the same to me.

Bats vary enormously, wing shape to size to everything.
