    As per Meiosis 1 defintion, this phase reduces 2n to (n and n)

    If I have two 2*23 chromosomes-
    x1, x2, x3,.....x23
    y1, x2 ,y3....y23

    I realise at end of Telophase 1 following 92 chromosomes will exist ( each replicated twice)
    x1 x1 x2 x2 x3 x3 x4 x4.....x23 x23
    y1 y1 y2 y2 y3 y3 y4 y4.... y23 y23

    What is the end results of meiosis1:

    Will two cells have

    cell 1 - x1x1, y2,y2. x3x3. .........x23x23 (46 pairs - numbers 1-23 present. Either x or y will have number 1-23)

    cell 2 - y1y1, x2,x2. y3y3. .........y23y23 (46 pairs - numbers 1-23 present. Based on result 1, Either x or y will have number 1-23)

    Is my understanding correct?

    Yes at the end of meiosis I you have two cells with a 2n genome.

    Meiosis 1 brings you to 2 cells with 2n like mitosis, it's meiosis II that will bring you to 4 cells with n.

    (Although, I think you mean 46 chromosomes not 46 pairs, it's 23 pairs.)

    Thanks, i meant 46 chrmosomes and not 46 pairs.

    My questions is
    Question1)
    Cell1 - will it have all numbers 1-23 ( Either number coming from x or y). e.g.

    e.g After Meiosis 1

    x1x1 may exist in Cell1
    y2y2 may exist in Cell1
    ....
    y20y20 may exist in Cell1
    .....
    x23y23 may exist in Cell1

    e.g Question2
    After meiosis 2 , the two hapliod cells from Cell1 of meiosis1 will each contain the chromosomes with identical information?
    x1 y2....y20...x23
    x1 y2....y20...x23

    If I understand your notation properly you're using x and y to denote maternally or paternally derived chromosomes?

    In which case, yes you will have 1x1x, 2y2y.... in the cells after meiosis 1, but you don't get an equal balance of paternally and maternally derived. It's random where they end up, but they are paired with their copy. Also, they aren't completely identical because of crossover.

    As to the second question, no they don't contain identical material because of crossover, but they will be very similar.
