I DONT ACTUALLY THINK IVE DISCOVERD A NEW SPECIE I JUST HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT IS.

i found a strange... i think it is an animal.

its about the size of my hand

    its grey

it feels like the consistency of a seecucumber but it has a very irregular shape

it basicly just looks like a blob of grey flesh

i think it might be some kind of soft coral

i found it in a saltwater tidal pool on a barrierisland in south carolina

it has multiple small holes that appear to have some kind of waste comeing out of them

Its the craziest thing i have ever seen and i need to know what it is

Also what could i use to preserve this thing in a jar

It sounds like the base of a sea annenomae, but then it would have stinging tentacles :?

Edit: Not applicable since pictures added

Large nudibranch or sea slug? That'd be about the size.

Sea squirt maybe. Or a sponge.

Portugese man 'o war may appear grey and hand-sized. If it's got a bubble and tendrils, don't touch it!

Sometimes pools evaporate and soft animals like jellies turn rubbery in the saltier water.

i don't think you can give it a name unless you describe in a scientific journal.

And why are the pictures from 2006?

How do you know that it is living tissue? It could be a polymer.

It looks like glue, when I was a kid we took those glue sticks and chopped the top off, then you could kneed the glue for a bit and it would look just like that haha.

    This person added colouring.

It looks like dookie. Probably whale dookie. You should have worn latex gloves.
