Are neurons the only cells in the body that are capable of transmitting electric signals?

    no, all cells can.

Try to electrocute yourself. It always works.

What I mean is, are neurons the only cells in the body whose natural function is to transmit electric signals (i.e. by way of Na+ and K+ channels opening and allowing for an action potential to propagate down the length of its body)?

Certainly bacteria in the gut conduct electricity. Search on "bacterial nanowires."
