Is it possible to create a virus which replicates an exact copy of the DNA of the host?

Then, hypothetically, is it possible to create a satellite system where I can find every person who has the virus and single out their DNA, in essence making an entire DNA database?

you can't fit so much DNA into a virus.

    So

    As spurious say, no.

Viruses typically have a genome on the order of 10,000 bases in length. A single chromosome might have on the order of 1,000,000,000 bases.

Ok so here is a question. Is it possible to CONTROL a virus through radio waves or something similar? Or would you need nano tech to do that with?

Viruses are not motile, as in they do not move under their own power. They move as molecules do, in response to convection currents, concentration gradients and of course, carried in moving media such as blood and air. So you'd need both a receiver and some means to move the virus. Assuming it's possible at all, definitely nano tech. Hard to see why you'd bother though. If your tech is that good, you could surely build a better DNA container too.

    anyhoo..

you can sequence a genome now for 48,000$.

That's probably less even next year.

So just be a bit patient and we can sequence a genome everytime you go through the US border or maybe the toilet bowl sequences your genome and that of your intestinal flora and fauna every time you poop.
