Could someone please tell me about any blood diseases that only happen to women? I need to explain why they only happen to women, but I don't even know of any diseases that do.
Thanks!

I don't know of any blood diseases that affect only women.
No I dont think there are, the only thing I can think of is that women are more prone to DVT by the effects of oestrogen.
menstruation.
Rh diseases associated with childbirth.
Same diseases can occour during bloodtransfusion, so they aren't typically for women, are they?Originally Posted by free radical
It is the second exposure that leads to "disease" and presumably transfusions take care to prevent even one such exposure.
Us women we are cool! There are blood disorders to which we are the carriers, men just get the disease, like Hemophilia.

They definitely suck the life out of you.
GASP! We do not! Some of us inspire men to do great things and be great people, not to mention the occasional oral delight that I am pretty sure the only thing being sucked is not life :wink:Originally Posted by spuriousmonkey
Ok I can difinitively answer the question too, I just asked a hematologist. He concurs with what I said the other day... Women can be carriers, but there is no blood "disorders" to where women are only effected.
weak blood disease. Makes women unable to put out the trash and such.
LOL :P
Women can be affected by X linked recessive disorders as well, it's just less common.Originally Posted by Sfere
Well women definitely have diseases that only affect them!
When men drink too much beer, the women blood diseases in it makes them babble incoherently and lose the ability to drive!
Luckily our immune systems destroy the blood diseases quickly...
