Is it true that you can increase your chances of having a boy or a girl depending on what time of the month you conceive? I was told that during one half of the woman's menstral cycle, her system is more hospitable to X sperms than Y sperms, and that during the other half, it's more hospitable to the Y sperms than the X sperms.

Is there any truth to this, and if so which half of the cycle is which, and by how much do the odds increase/decrease?

I don't know about time of the month, but it is possible to sort sperm in a FACS (Fluorescent Activated Cell Sorter) and then use artificial insemination to select for a boy or a girl.

you can increase your chances for what you want by having intercourse at certain times of the months and different positions that use. Look up the shettles method and other things like that. Also like the person before said people can dye the sperm use lasers and a flow cytometer to separate male and female sperm. Also you could grow some embryos in a dish determine the sexes of them and artificially implant the ones of the desired sex.

You can also throw the baby with the wrong sex off a cliff and start over again, Spartan style.

There is more evidence that this latter method works well.

Both pre- and postnatal terminations of babies of the "wrong" sex are being widely practiced today. And yes they do work. The only problem with them is baby mortality, rather disturbingly close to 100%.

The "wrong" sex usually happens to be girls.

Not in East Korea where there is an extensive breeding program to recreate a pool of Jessica Albas.

I can provide the link if you doubt this statement.

They still won't breed enough brides for all the boys in China.

That's ok. The boys of China need to concentrate on producing cheap shit for the Western world.

Pampered only children don't usually grow up to be meek submissive cheap labour. Add to this the frustration of not having enough women for all, and something is likely to happen.

    Watch this space.

Yeah I think scientist now can modify the genes to get whatever the parents desire like eye color, hair color etc.......

Few months ago, scientists in England modified the gene of baby to be free of cancer genes.

    Here is the story.. http://alturl.com/8vib

Contrary to the badly-written article, they are not "genetically modifying" the babies. They are merely creating embryos in vitro and then doing genetic testing on them to make sure they don't have certain genes before they implant them in the mother.
