I need a sentence that will grab the audiences attention. It could also be a question.

Chocoholic, we are not here to do your homework for you, let alone something that has to do with speech writing. Come up with some examples of your own and then you can get feedback.

Man can will nothing unless he has first understood that he must count on no one but himself; that he is alone, abandoned on earth in the midst of his infinite responsibilities, without help, with no other aim than the one he sets himself, with no other destiny than the one he forges for himself on this earth.
    ~Jean-Paul Sartre

i give you permission to use the following sentence from my signature :

"biology without evolution is but stamp collecting"

it emphasises the central role evolution has in giving meaning to every aspect of the biological sciences
"Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away." (Philip K. Dick)

    Opening sentence:

"Obviously the theory of evolution is false because if it would be true my audience would consist out of winners, and instead it is filled with total losers and hopeless monsters."
"Kill them all and let God sort them out."

    - Arnaud Amalric

I had a similar thought: "Good day, my name is John Galt and I come from an unbroken line of winners stretching back over 3.5 billion years."

I'm growing increasingly impatient with these homework threads, so I'm going to lock this one for now. Chocoholic, if you would like to make a case to re-open this thread, send me a PM.
