    Hi,

We'll implant a device into a pig's eye. We need to be able to keep the head of pig cadavre for 24 hours, not letting it go rot. What is to best way preserve the head, without deforming the eye, especially the cornea?

    Thanks in prior

    It wont rot in 24hrs.

What condition do u need it to be in? How good does it need to be?
Do you have ethical approval for this. what research is it for?

Freezing is good I suppose. The traditional way is to drain the blood and other fluids from the head and fill all veins etc with fermaldyhide.

Well no it depends on what you want to do. The crystallisation of the aqueous humor when u freeze the body may not be appropriate for whatever the experiment is. It will cause quite a lot of damage to proteins and the retinal layers (keep in mind there are 10 distinct cellular layers to the retina, each funtioncally different).
