Every Organism on earth has this perfect niche in its habitat. its amazing some of the realationships that there are.

    then there is humans.

we dont have a niche we stomp on them and introduce invasive species.

Did we ever fit into an ecosystem or have we always been destructive?

Your first sentence is not really correct. Niches are only temporarily stable, never perfect. When they (or the organisms) destabilise, species are displaced and typically one species will dominate one or a number of competing ones. This happens frequently without human intervention and is a normal part of evolution. Essentially, it's not a stable system at all. At the very least mutation will destabilise it, if not environmental change.

We are a rather extreme example of a species undergoing (probably unprecedented) expansion due to an evolutionary edge. We are doing more or less the exact same thing that any species would do in our position. Taking all that we can for ourselves. We are only gradually becoming aware that this is, in itself, a threat to our survival.

Thanks Biologista - always appreciate your comments.

Interesting post to which you responded - wonder how this child arrived at the man-is all-bad viewpoint?
    stomp on them (niches?)
    introduce invasive species
    always destructive.

we still live in our little niche. We just found a way to expand our niche to other places.

We literally transform locations into niches we love living in.

Why do you think we have houses? Because we need houses to live in? No, to make a micro-environment we like. To make a niche. A niche from which we can operate in 'unfriendly' environments.

Same for the igloo. A temporary niche so we can operate in a hostile environment..

I was getting ready to say that.

We're desert creatures. We create temperate deserts.

From space we might look like a kind of termite.

EDIT: @Spuriousmonkey. Saw this and thought of you:

As far as i am aware humans are no different then any other animal. Every species population will increase when things are going well and decrease when the environment changes or food/water supplies become scarce. Isn't that why there are so many different species today and a major part of the evolutionary process?
