Thread: Are all the neural cell bodies in the brain?

    Are the sensory neurons that for example feel pain on the skin the extended axons of the neurons in the brain or are the neural cell bodies everywhere in the body? Also, are there neural cell bodies in the spinal cord or are they again extensions of the axons of the brain neurons?

    I think cephalopods are exceptional though. They're queerly intelligent in a limby sort of way.
