since the invention of the hair cut, hair hasn't really played a big role in the human life. But' does it still affect our relationships?

being a man having a haircut and being well groomed in general is more attractive than being a tramp who doesnt cut his hair or shave. it probably gives the impression that you are more succesful and take better care of your body in general.

i'd say most women find this more attractive, obviously there are some women who like the grunge look but you can never please all the people all of the time. am i right or am i right?

    everything is mathematical.

I would say so. But some of the health freaks/triathaltes I have met look like they could have come from a damn 3rd world country, of couse the psycholigoical impression they make downrange is huge, so I guess it has it's benifits. But in general I belive you are right.

But some people, look better without hair. So having hair is only important in some peoples cases not all.

Though I find that women look much better with hair. If anyone can point out a bald good looking women I comend you and bow to superior skills of observation.

Women notice hair more than any other part of the man, she even looks at it moreso than the face (assumptiopn there). It says quite a bit about the man. There are many looks for the man with hair, and that portrays different personalities. Depending on the occasion, a man can manipulate his hair to attract females where they are more likely to be attracted; (fluffy look's good for when you want to appear cute, smart look is for when you obviously want to look intelligent). The whole point is to make yourself look like you are capable of looking after that woman than other men, for instance, a smart haircut that makes you look intelligent would go down well at a science convention (where the women there are most likely smart themselves, and look for compatability). This allows women to notice you more than other men and instantly gets all other men in the room out of the look. Tough trick after that is maintaining you are smart, cute or whatever you hair is saying, because all hair is at the end of the day is an attention grabber .

Unfortuantley that is huge leap, for instance the man could be having a bad hair day, not had time to do his grooming etc. It is also unfortunate that men do not have a similar look at women in the same light. We just see a glob load of makeup and done up tarty look to be attractive, but then again that is subjective to other mens preferences.

in evolutionary terms I think hair is a means of keeping our heads warm because most heat is lost through the head and most people don't wear hats. We probably lost our body hair because we began wearing clothes.

    In evolutionary terms...

Head hair makes us appear more fearsome to natural enemies. It also distinguishes us from other species. So, the lion may learn not to mess with homo sapiens, only if he can tell us apart from our easy prey cousins. We need a sort of flag that announces what we are, so they don't bother us. It's the same with snakes striped red & yellow. Note that many mammals - even large predators - are instinctively afraid of us.

There's surely a strong peacock component too.

Babies love hair. They don't just grab it at every opportunity - they bond to it. Mother gets a perm, baby will scream and reject the stranger.
