Anyone got any ideas? I like the 'what's your favorite pizza topping' one. What? You ask? It seems daft but there is no simple yes or no answer to which a lot of women are wating to say if they hear a corny chat up line, regardless of if the bloke is genuine or lying. In those seconds she's thinking, her acceptance of your come on is increased vastly by letting her know that although it seems really daft, it is a mind boggler and it shows your extraordinary (which could be a very good replacement for 'bad boy tactics', but lets not go into that again :wink.

    Any thoughts and ideas?

I'm sorry but I think this really doesnt qualify for Behavioural and Social Sciences.. Please try to keep some scientific standard on this forum.

Rephrase the title and original post to give it some substance, otherwise the thread may be moved to General Discussion.

    All due respect Pendragon but:

Science is defined as: any systematic knowledge or practice.

This topic is knowledge of dating and the practice of it. Both the qualities of the above definition. Besides, Behavioural and social sciences? I'd say this comes under the topic of socioligy so it is scientific, if others won't treat it that way, feel free to delete it .

I don't want to delete anything if it's not necessary, just try to maintain a certain standard of quality for posts, especially when starting a new thread.

Btw I'm doing a minor on sociology at the moment, and I can assure you that we're not studying chat-up lines for dating :P

    How about:

" I am new to the area and was wondering if you could reccomend some good bars/clubs?"

Then when you get chatting you can suggest you meet up for a few drinks in one.

I'd be at a lecture or similar event and simply sit down next to a girl and ask to borrow a pencil or something. I've always found that if you ask someone to give you a hand it opens the door to more conversation. Even asked a woman in a grocery store aisle if she could help pick something out or explain some food. If you have a camera ask them to take a photo of you next to something to send your mother, etc. After she's helped thank her and you look her straight in the eye and if she keeps looking at you then she might be interested. She's waiting for you to say something (other than 'now can I borrow a piece of paper') A little compliment can then be appropriate such as on a jewellry item she's wearing, etc. Most women are intelligent and nice and don't make you feel like a turkey as long as you are sincere.

Do not hit on women while shopping. Nothing more intimidating than men hitting on you when you are 'out of context for being hit on'.

Depends on the person. A more thrifty kind of woman might happily take home some free meat.
