Pick a Side - Any Side...
I was raised in Handsworth Birmingham UK.
We'd look for a place to play soccer - so did other kids.
We found a place - but a group of black kids were using it.
So we played "black heads v white heads".
A white head went home. We were outnumbered. So a black head was chosen to play on the white head team. We played soccer.
The essence of this story is that people sometimes have to pick or be handed over to one side or another whether they like it or not. You could just go home but most of us like a good game. Make of this what you will. I'm just saying what happened.
