Thread: musical paranoia

    whenever i listen to music really really loudly just for a (literal) second, i suddenly get a brief bout of paranoia. I have to look behind me, to assure myself that there's nothing there. It's weird. Just wondering if anyone's heard of anything like this before.

    it's just the effect of one of your senses being compramised i think, though it could be the effect of the soundwaves coming back at giving you the idea that someone is there - especially if you have a big subwoofer

    It's probably just a milder form of a sudden loud noise causing a start, snag is once you associate the two you've trained yourself to always doit!

    The only way out is to repeat the exercise slowly starting from a low volume and working up, to re-train yourself to ignore it.
