I liked the line that said: "The study also found that people holding left-wing political views were less willing to hurt others."

Interesting because Democrats are "left wing" types who have started the 1st World War, the 2nd World War, The Korean War, The Vietnam War so that doesn't make them look that "friendly".

WW1 was an almost inevitable clash of decaying empires. The guy who provided the excuse for the outbreak of full scale war, lit the blue touch paper on a very unstable heap of explosives, was a nationalist from the "Young Bosnia" crowd.

    From the wiki
    There were members who promoted
Serbian nationalist aims of pan-Serb unification into Serbia.[6] Young Bosnia was inspired from a variety of ideas, movements, and events; such as German romanticism, anarchism, Russian revolutionary socialism, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Friedrich Nietzsche, and the Battle of Kosovo
Russian revolutionary socialism + nihilist Nietzsche + romanticism & other unrelated ideas =/= left-wing. More like incoherent hotch potch than left wing, but the strong nationalist drive would incline towards some form of authoritarianism.

WW2. Started by left wing people? Who? The "anti-capitalism" of the Nazis was not Marxism but arose out of a belief that capitalism was run by Jews. The Nazi party was always dominated by extreme nationalist, white supremacist, right wing views.

I'm saying that the Presidents at those times were all Democrats and declared war. I'm not say that they started them only that Democratic Presidents were in charge and put our military into battle because of troubles elsewhere which they might have begun but may not have begun but still entered into the war.

OK. That's a really odd version of who have started a number of wars. After all, the US let both WW1 and WW2 run for more than 2 years before getting involved.

And saying that US Democrats are "left-wing" is downright strange.

Maybe, but not by much if any less willing, in just about any which direction. Would like to see how they did the test.

No, not true in the beginning. Corporal Hitler was sent by the army in 1919 as an infiltrator/spy. He saw that it was not Marxist, as mentioned, but certainly very socialist (Nasi = National Socialist) and nationalist. He liked it so much he quickly ditched the army, very volunteer then, and joined with the party full time. Til around 1930 many of the remaining originals still saw Hitler as a drawing force for the party as a speaker. The Strasser Brothers were some of the last hold outs, and it is from one of them we get better intel on Hitler's relationship with his niece before she committed suicide. For a digressing example, after escaping to France and beyond his account was that Dolfie liked receiving golden showers and worse, to be abused in this way by women and maybe vice versa.

Speaking of leftist violence, it exists world wide at present on par or far beyond that of the extreme right wing in democratic industrialized countries. Think of it. A good deal more of right of center people are hard working and prone to business. Why would they want to get involved in such a fray? Ghettos tend to be left wing far beyond any of the right in western countries. Same goes for bookish intellectuals with lots of thinking time available. Globally, wealthy countries seem to have this situation.
