The things we do for love make us do stupid things. We believe liars, put our faith in unfounded realities, and even take up arms, and volunteer to sacrifice our lives. Does one need to itemize examples? Love, that which makes us feel our lives are complete, is a tool for some, an elusive destination for others, and many things to many others. It is the essence of religion, where people fallow butterflies, and train their children to do the same.
The things we do for hate. I will not go into detail, from my reference point is sad but very much a factor in much of human behavior.
Should we raise our children to be uncaring? I have lived for love, never for hate. Sometimes seems 2 sides to the same coin. Is the life of a hermit the best choice for the future?

If you don't spread love then others might not find it as you have.

Sounds more like you're confusing love and hate with "want."
"Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes that you can do these things. Among them are a few Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or businessman from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid."

The emotions we feel, are a result of biochemical processes occurring in the brain, and have been shaped by evolution. If it is the case, that being able to feel hate, better allows you to kill another human being who threatens your reproductive success, those traits will be passed on. In the scheme of things, we feel emotion, because it is useful for our survival.

There are lots of studies that show that sxual arousal interferes with logical thinking, or increases things like risk taking behavior.

Of course it does, because the priority of reproduction supersedes all in the natural world.

Also, computers easily pass the Turing test if they talk dirty to men.

Terms that need to be clearly defined before ably moving on with your discussion.

Love. Love is an immensely broad term in the English language, often mingled with other meanings, such as lust, want, desire, compassion, pity, empathy, hate, greed, sexuality, and much more. What kind of Love are you speaking of? Also, I would say it is not love but death which is the basis of religion.

Logic is hardly given credit here. Logic need not serve truth, practical behavior, or even survival. Logic has no end of its own. What about love (and passion) makes a person illogical?

Hate. This term suffers from the same vagueness as Love, though maybe not so greatly.

    Curiosity,

Is a behavior which is useful for survival also logical?
Do not try and bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead... only realize the truth. There is no spoon. Then you'll see that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself. -Spoon Boy

That's a really interesting question, because evolution may not care about what is "true," just what is useful or enhances survival. On the other hand, one expects that our senses provide information that correlates with reality so that we don't constantly make costly mistakes. But there is heuristics to consider, and a tendency to answer simpler questions in place of larger, more complex ones. For example, if there are three events, a, b, and c, and a is the true cause of c, but b also, for some reason, correlates with c and is much easier to notice, then I might have a survival advantage in mistaking b as the real cause of c, even though I am wrong.
