Endorphins are manufactured and released to encourage positive re-enforcement of rewarding behaviors.

no offence to your paster but he should spend a little time researching memes before he repeats them. Endorphins trigger a happy feeling, and the reasons for endorphin release are very well documented.

The pastor is disinterested in facts... His agenda is to keep the tithes flowing.

I was curious myself since I didn`t know the chemical structure of endorphins [very complicated apparently] so I went on Wikipedia:
Endorphins ("endogenous morphine") are endogenous opioid peptidesthat function as neurotransmitters.[1] They are produced by the pituitary gland and the hypothalamus in vertebrates during exercise,[2]excitement, pain, consumption of spicy food, love and orgasm,[3][4] and they resemble the opiates in their abilities to produce analgesia and a feeling of well-being.
A publicized effect of endorphin production is the so-called "runner's high", which is said to occur when strenuous exercise takes a person over a threshold that activates endorphin production. Runner's high has also been known to create feelings of euphoria and happiness. Altough it is called runners high, the effect occurs to strenous exercise in general, and not just running.

Tell your pastor that it's obviously the little angels who live in the cupboard that create it in their Heavenly Happiness Factories TM.
That should be scientific enough for him.

It’s probably not good practice for your pastor to attribute what he doesn’t understand (yet) or comprehend to that of the actions of a god, but then he mightn’t make a good pastor if he didn’t. I think it’s all too common a human tendency to fall into that mindset. It’s known as the “Argument for Ignorance”.

By the way, in the pursuit of happiness, I get my high dose of endorphin release from the occasional chocolate cheese cake and seasoned pork chops!

Don't take science advice from pastors. They would prefer you just swallow the blue pill and forget that the red one was ever an option.

What exactly do you personally use to determine a "crackpot fraud" website? examples?

happiness is from many different neurotransmitter chemicals
including serotonin, dopamine, endocannabinoids, endorphin, acetylcholine, oxytocin( the "love" chemical)

each has it's own effect, and combinations are common

your body creates neurotransmitters to fit receptors in other cells, the number of receptors is not static, nor is the production or uptake of any particular transmitter chemical.

as usual easy answers ain't normally inclusive enough.

How do people feel when endorphin is injected into them? happiness?

    or just some stress suppressant?

google says its used for depressed patients, but not used for "getting a happy life/ getting happiness".

How do these things work. Real mystery, i think.

Happiness is a complex emotion as well as an over all assessment of well being, and I don't think you can point to a single neurotansmitter or even one structure in the brain and say "that is the happiness generator." There are physical sensations of pleasure, as well as relative comparisons of ones present condition compared to past ones, memories, comparisons we make to the circumstances of others, and hopes or expectations for the future. We even have "empathetic" happiness when good things happen to those we care about. Accomplishing a difficult task can actually be somewhat unpleasant - stressful, frustrating, and it may even deprive one of other pleasures or needs, and yet somehow we often find the challenge invigorating, meaningful, and satisfying. I think happiness probably involves many different brain processes that arrive at a kind of consensus that things are basically ok or even better than we predicted, or that our actions were worth while.
