In the corporate world, gender stratification is made apparent by the "glass ceiling" and "glass escalator", terms used to describe the limits on how far a woman can go in a profession and the ease with which equally qualified males can sidestep those limits.
How does gender stratification affect people who work in less than legitimate professions? Such as drug dealing, prostitution, loan sharking and hired killing?
Do the glass ceiling and escalator still apply? Are there limits on certain genders that are unique to illegal work? Or are men and women more equal under these circumstances?
