Thread: Visualizing Algorithms

I posted this on another site and only got criticism, well actually it was only one person and there is a huge conflict occurring between some people on that site and myself... although they are probably on this site too.... = ( Anyways... I am genuinely interested in knowing whether most people can see Algorithms when they close their eyes. Let me explain because I feel that it is hard to conceptualize if you do not experience it. There are certain instances when I see, in my mind or when my eyes are closed a ,what I believe to be, divide and conquer algorithm. It takes on the form of a type of shape which transitions rapidly from large to small back to large, yet when it transitions it just doesn't go back to the same size it changes in some way that is hard to comprehend. It is as if the colors become larger and smaller in relation to the shape. The colors that are generally present are black, gray, and white with different shades... and it takes on a muted tone... its weird.

Anyways this has been happening for a long time now and does not happen frequently, I have no conscious control over it.

Also I have begun to notice correlations between it and thoughts cycles or something.

Maybe it is the way you're brain works when you concentrate that you enter a deep level of thought and can visualise these things.

i know from experience that when i haven't had enough sleep and i have to visualise some mechanics or similair i enter a trance state where i can see the object moving and see equations of motion forming around it,

So do you like having this ability, or do you want to get rid of it

i need to define what it is first, if it is a pointless creation of the mind then I do not mind it, it is misleading sometimes because I get the impression that this is unusual, but other than that, it's fine.... however if some kind of correlation can be made with the algorithm, if that is indeed what it is, and something else than it would be cool... i guess.

I guess my question would first be, does a divide and conquer algorithm exist in the complexities of nature or is it a presence only in human mathematical systems and computer systems. Because if it doesn't it would be unusual for it to be occurring in my mind with no prior exposure to those systems.
