Thread: Jupiter without satellites

This month will be the only occasion of the year to observe Jupiter without satellites, just the day 22 May from 3.51 to 4.09. Io will be eclipsed from 3h50m59s, then will be hidden from 4h51m31s. Europa will be in transit from 3h30m52s to 6h14m21s. Ganimede will be hidden from 0h55m36s to 4h9m32s. Callisto instead will be eclipsed from 1h11m13s to 4h20m1s. Present also the phenomena of transits of the shadows, as an example of Europe. All the details on my site

I calculated with my software written in basic.

Lucky Galileo didn't look at Jupiter at the wrong time.

Good point! Although I believe he made a series of observations, recording the positions of three of the moons.
